Christ is the sower of divine seeds in souls, and he sows on everyone, because he wants all to be saved. He sows even on the rocky ground of the hard hearted, the atheist, the big sinner, so that they too might one day be converted, as so many have throughout history. Today he needs us to be sowers in the many people around us. In this meditation we use texts of Scripture and St Josemaria Escriva to consider how:
- We are called to sow the seeds of God’s truth and love in all those around us
- We should engage with all types of people: non-practising Catholics, non-Catholics, atheists, big sinners…
- We cannot expect every conversation to bear immediate fruit; seeds take time to appear above the ground and grow
- Others may harvest years later the seeds we have sown today
- We should accompany our work of sowing with much prayer and penance
